About myself

To tell the truth it is not so easy for me to speak about myself but I'll try to do my best. First of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Olga, Olya for short. My surname is Petrova. My full name is Olga Ivanovna Petrova. I am Russian. I am sixteen years old. I was born in Novgorod, but some years ago my parents moved to Volgograd, and I have got accustomed to consider itmy native town. I live together with my parents in a small two-room flat on the second floor of a big many-storeyed block of flats in a new district. We have all modern conveniences (gas, electricity, central heating, running water and etc.). There are many shops, a green park and a cinema in our district.

My family is small. I have a mother, a father. So I'm the only daughter. It's a pity I have neither brother nor sister. I have some relatives – grandparents, an uncle and an aunt, two cousins. My family is very united. We are deeply attached to each other and we get on very well.

As for my appearance you can judge yourself. I think there is nothing special in my appearance to attract attention. I am neither tall nor short. I am of medium height like my parents. My parents believe I am slim, but to my mind I am a bit plump and need to lose weight. My hair is straight and long, I don’t like a haircut. I wear my hair either I loose or done in a knot which becomes me most.

I am like my mother about my face. But my blue and close-set eyes resemble my father's. My mother's eyes are hazel. Unfortunately I am short-sighted. I wish I didn’t have to wear glasses. I have a round face, a turned-up nose, arched browns and full lips.

I am energetic, rather intelligent, patient, optimistic and polite. I always try to be in a good mood. My friends say I am easy to deal with but I am always a little unsure of myself, a little too nervous of what other people might say about me. I wish I were more reserved. I am stubborn and never drop my work half-way, always trying to achieve the goal I set. It is difficult to put me off if I have made up my mind to do something.

Maybe that is why my interests don’t change much with the time. As I am interested in ancient history I prefer reading historical novels when I have some free time. When I am tired I listen to music. I am fond of both classical and modern music. I can play the piano a little but I wish I could play the guitar as well.

I have many friends. I often invite them to my place to listen to music, to dance and to have a cup of tea with my mother’s cakes. I have a boy-friend. When I graduate from the University, we are going to marry. We hope we’ll make a good family and we want to have a son and a daughter. As you see, my biography is not long. I can add that I like foreign languages and I like to know some European languages to communicate with people from different countries. I’m fond of travelling and my dream is to visit many countries together with my husband and children.
