FRANKFURT AIRPORT
Frankfurt is Lufthansa’s home base, a hub of Europe’s airways and a recognized gateway to world aviation. With more than 30 million passengers a year and some 1,000 take offs and landings daily, Frankfurt is one of the three most important airports in Europe.
The airport has a lot to offer in the way of amenities: 30 cafes, restaurants and bars, a cinema, a supermarket, six duty-free shops and some 110 specialists stores selling everything from antiques to international newspapers. There are also banks, a post office, a pharmacy, a hairdresser’s, a dry cleaner’s, a fully-equipped clinic and a chapel.
Frankfurt Airport is ideally situated close to a large intersection of major highways and has its own train station with direct links to the GermanRail network. In addition, Lufthansa Airport Bus provides a rapid service linking Frankfurt with Mannheim and Heidelberg.
Overnight accomodations are available at two modern hotels in the direct vicinity of the airport. Avis and number of other firms provide car-rental facilities for passengers continuing their journey by road.
The Lufthansa Business Class Lounge is located in the Frankfurt Airport Centre (FAC) on Level 3. It can be reached via the footbridge between Halls A and B.
